Because the shrinkage of wollastonite body is small, the thermal expansion coefficient is small, It is very beneficial to the low temperature rapid firing process. After adding wollastonite to the glaze of daily-used ceramics, wollastonite can replace some of the raw materials of quartz and limestone, and can completely avoid the carbon dioxide gas emitted by the decomposition of limestone, resulting in the pinhole of glaze surface and the defect of glaze bubble. In firing wollastonite can reduce the high temperature viscosity of glaze, optimize the gloss and smoothness of porcelain glaze. At present, wollastonite has been used in the production of ceramic tiles, semi-transparent handicrafts, art ceramics, household fine pottery, special ceramics in the multi-empty ceramics, low loss of electromagnetic, ceramic casting mold and so on. In the respect of building sanitary ceramics industry can produce glazed wall tile, brocade brick, sanitary ware and partial glaze semi-products, forming great progress.
