Accessories for Gabion Assembly & Reinforcing

Besides various types of bastion barriers and gabion baskets, our company also offers a wide range of accessories including spiral joints, hog rings, U clips and stiffeners. As connectors, these accessories play an important role in assembling a gabion basket and fastening gabion units together.

Aiming at different gabion materials and manufacture techniques, accessories for installation are not always same. For example, spiral joints are only used for welded gabion installation, lacing wire are commonly used in woven gabions.

Our company provide you four types of hexagonal wire mesh woven gabion basket and their accessories of the same material, as following:

Type 1: zinc-coated steel wire, soft temper.
Type 2: zinc-5 % aluminum-mischmetal alloy, soft temper.
Type 3: zinc-coated steel wire with an additional PVC coating extruded onto the metallic-coated steel wire.
Type 4: aluminum-coated steel wire, soft temper.

Our company provides you five types of welded gabion baskets and their relevant accessories as follows:

Type 1: Zinc-coated before being welded into fabric. Spiral binders, lacing wire, and stiffeners are also produced from zinc coated wire.
Type 2: Welded wire fabric which is made from uncoated wire and the fabric is subsequently zinc-coated after fabrication. Spiral binders, lacing wire, and stiffeners are produced from zinc-coated wire.
Type 3: Welded wire fabric made from wire which is coated with zinc-5 % aluminum-mischmetal alloy before being welded into fabric. Spiral binders, lacing wire, and stiffeners are also produced from zinc-5 % luminum-mischmetal alloy coated wire.
Type 4: Welded wire fabric made from wire which is aluminum-coated before being welded into fabric. Spiral binders, lacing wire, and stiffeners are also produced from aluminum-coated (aluminized) wire.
Type 5: Welded wire fabric, spiral binders, lacing wire, and stiffeners as types 1, 2, 3, or 4, and overcoated with PVC.

^A The metallic-coated wire shall have the size tolerances in accordance with Specifications A641/A641M, A856/A856M, and A809, as applicable. ^B The minimum thickness of PVC which covers the wire shall be 15 mils (0.015 in. or 0.38 mm), measured radially at any cross section transverse to the wire length. ^C The nominal thickness of PVC which covers the wire shall be 20 mils (0.020 in. or 0.51 mm), measured radially at any cross section transverse to the wire length.

Three galvanized steel spiral joints for gabion baskets

Spiral joints
Spiral joints are considered the commonest yet strongest connectors for assembling welded gabion baskets. They are easy to use as well as no sharp edges are left to avoid people getting scratched.

Material: quality steel wire or stainless steel wire.
Wire diameter: 2.2mm, 3.0mm, 3.8mm, 4.0mm, 4.5mm.
Pitch: 20mm, 25mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm.

Spiral inner diameter: 15mm, 20mm, 25mm or custom others.
Length: 300mm, 500mm, 1000mm or any custom length.
Anti-rust treatment: galvanized, zinc-aluminum plated or PVC coated.

Two strips of hog rings made of high quality galvanized steel.

Hog rings
Hog rings, also known as C rings, are the second choice after spiral joints. They are cost saving and easy to assemble using pneumatic C ringer. But it is not recommended to using hog rings to fasten edges as spiral joints do.

Material: high quality steel complying with AISI304 or stainless steel wire.
Tensile strength: 1700 N/mm2 to 2000N/mm2.
Wire diameter: 3mm.
Length: 45mm.
Anti-rust treatment: galvanized or zinc - 5% aluminum metallic plated.
Package: Hog rings are packaged in boxes.

Two stripes of U clips for small decorative gabion baskets.

U clips
U clips, made of stainless steel, are ideal for connecting gabion panels to make a decorative cage. They can be easily fastened using needle nosed pliers. It is recommend to use U clips every 150mm to 200mm around the cage.

Material: high quality stainless steel.
Width: 8.5mm.

Length: 18.5mm.
Height: 17.5mm.
Strip: each strip contains 25 clips.

Gabion stiffeners
Gabion stiffeners, also known as gabion spacer, are designed to be placed in every corner to reinforce gabion cages. They can be supplied in singles or packed in boxes.

Material: quality steel.
Wire diameter: 4mm.
Length: any length is available.
Anti-rust treatment: Zinc - 5% aluminum plated.
