Kelly Cock Valve

 

 

 

Kelly cock valve is a manual control valve in the drill string circulation system and is one of the effective tools to prevent blowout .

The Kelly Cock Valve provides quick dependable closing to protect the swivel, stand pipe, mud pumps and rotary hose against pressure

surges and to prevent drilling fluid loss when disconnecting the Kelly.  Body is made from material to specs AISI-4145 H, heat-treated to

285- 341 BHN and as per API Spec. It includes upper Kelly valve and lower Kelly valve which is assembled the upper end and lower end of

drill pipe. The Kelly valve can be opened on or closed off by the special operating spanner at 90 degrees according to indicating direction.
